It is an extraordinary gift that is accompanied by other gifts. One of these is that of peace. Another is that of happiness. However, neither the peace nor the happiness that accompany the Spirit has to do with those which men frequently look for. For many, peace is fruit of war and happiness is tied to money and spending. For Christians, peace is born of love and justice, while happiness is tied to generosity. Peace is also born of something else: reconciliation and pardon. A forgiveness that one receives from the one offended, from God in the confessional – and that is given: a forgiveness that opens the doors or saintliness for us.

These are, therefore, the four keys to Pentecost: peace, happiness, forgiveness, saintliness. We must ask the Holy Spirit to give us these talents and we must work so that, once granted, they take root in us and give abundant fruit. What can I do for peace? Do I have the happiness of those who love? Have I forgiven or asked forgiveness? Am I looking for saintliness? These are the four questions that we must answer this week.

Intention: Work for peace by doing good, avoid or remove tension. Forgive and ask forgiveness, help those who need it.
