Then he said to his disciples, &#8220;The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.\u201d \u00a0(Mathew 9, 36-37)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This fragment of the Gospel is like an x-ray of Jesus\u2019 heart. Saint Mathew informs us of his feeling upon seeing so many people without spiritual direction, moral guidance in life. The lord feels a profound sorrow and we can deduce that it is precisely this sentiment that moves him to become man and come to earth.\u00a0 Compassion is, well, one of the most profound sentiments that nests in the heart of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 However, this compassion is not just sentimental, but operative; it is turned into work. Christ doesn\u2019t see the problems and he limits crying about them, but shoulder to the wheel and fix them. And this is precisely where we should imitate him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Today, perhaps more than ever, \u201csheep without a shepherd\u201d is fulfilled for more souls than ever. There are fewer shepherds, but there are also those who aren\u2019t such so much. Many Catholics wander to sects and others totally leave religion. It is our responsibility to ask God to augment the vocations, talk to the young to propose to them the devotion and carrying through the works of the apostles. It is also our responsibility, if we see that some shepherds are lost and on the wrong path, to pray for than and to talk to them, with the goal that they too return to the full communion with Jesus Christ and stop being a bad example to the faithful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Intentions:<\/u> <\/strong>Pray and offer sacrifice for the vocations of priest and nun. Be an apostolate, especially for those outside of the Church.
