“The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come.” (Mathew 22, 2-3)
Sometimes people ask Christians why there are people without faith, at least apparently by no fault of their own. Answering this question isn’t easy; in any case, there is no doubt that God will not reproach anyone for their absence of faith if they have had no opportunity to have it. Faith is a don and not having it is a lack that deprives you of the horizon of hope and light and strength in the order of charity. However, what is true is that is much more frequent: those who do not have faith because they don’t want too or even having it or having had it, they live as if they didn’t have it; or they have lost it because of not using it.
Why does this happen? Why do many live as if they don’t have faith and even end up losing it? There is only one explanation: these consider that faith is an inconvenience in life, a brake against personal realization, an uncomfortable connection to a moral conscience that prevents you from doing what you would like to do and could do because you have the ability and the money.
We need to feel or – to remember if we have already felt – that faith is a gift, to be with the Lord is good luck. Christ didn’t come to make our lives difficult, to prevent us from enjoyment, but to take us to a full happiness and joy that comes only on the path of love. Therefore, let us go to his festivity when he invites us. Let us participate in the Eucharist even if it entails some sacrifice, because if we don’t it is very probable that the faith will cool off and even get lost.
Intention: When it is hard for you to live the Gospel, fulfil the commandments, go to mass, do right, don’t feel unfortunate but fortunate. To love is a stroke of luck.
